IMTS will kick-off in Chicago next week, from September 14 to 19, 2026. At the German Pavilion, machine vision company senswork will showcase innovative solutions for industrial quality control. Their aim: demonstrate how AI-powered machine vision and high-resolution 3D inspection enable reliable quality assurance in manufacturing.
AI-Based Detection of Surface Cracks With Cognex In-Sight 3800
senswork’s exhibition strategy is divided into 2 exhibits. In the first, the company presents the automatic detection and classification of surface cracks using the Cognex In-Sight 3800 Edge Learning smart camera. The integrated AI technology enables reliable inspection even with natural variations between individual housing. The Edge Learning technology learns characteristic defect features and can thus identify and evaluate surface cracks with high accuracy.
The technology aims at illustrating how embedded AI systems make inspection processes more robust. For example, they reduce the effort required for setting up and maintaining inspection systems.
3D Inspection of Sealing Beads With Micro-Epsilon Surfacecontrol
With its second exhibit, senswork showcases how sealing tracks on automotive components can be reliably inspected with high-precision 3D measurement technology. This is where Micro-Epsilon’s high-resolution 3D Snapshot scanner, surfaceCONTROL, comes into play. It can capture the entire component surface in a single scan. And it can check quality characteristics such as geometry, height, width, and continuity. This ensures that the seal has been applied correctly and meets the quality requirements of automotive production. For the company, this capability lays the foundation for reliable quality control.
Machine Vision for Quality Inspection
With these two exhibits, senswork aims to demonstrate how AI-based image processing and high-resolution 3D snapshot technology can improve process reliability and efficiency, and reduce scrap.
