A Leading Congress for the Engineering Community in France

Created in 2005, the Engineering, Major Projects and Complex Systems Congress (IGPSC) brings together more than 270 participants each year. It has become one of the leading engineering events in France.

It gathers Project Owners, Engineering and Delivery Organizations, executives, project managers, engineers, business development managers, technical experts, academics and researchers from both major industrial groups and SMEs.

Its founding objective remains unchanged: to provide a unique environment where professionals from diverse sectors can meet, share experience, exchange perspectives and learn from one another around major industrial, scientific and technical challenges.

Over the years, IGPSC has become a place where expertise converges to better understand the complexity of the projects shaping our future. The congress highlights technological  know-how, emerging technologies, innovative methodologies and best practices that contribute to the performance of organizations and the country as a whole.

Speakers, true drivers of excellence, present projects in which they have been directly  involved. In a demanding environment that respects intellectual property, they share the challenges encountered, the solutions implemented, the difficulties overcome and the  results achieved.

Participating in IGPSC means learning from the experiences and innovations of others. It means sharing challenges and successes, discovering new expertise and collectively reflecting on the technical, environmental, industrial and societal issues that will shape tomorrow’s  world.

A Community of Expertise Dedicated to Understanding and Shaping the Future

One of IGPSC’s key strengths lies in its Scientific and Technical Council (STC). It is composed of  18 members representing some of the most recognized organizations in the engineering  sector.

Each year, the STC designs the congress program by identifying the most strategic and forward-looking topics related to major projects and complex systems. This demanding  approach ensures a balanced and independent program closely aligned with major  industrial, technological, environmental and societal challenges.

This collective dynamic makes it possible to explore a wide variety of fields:

This cross-disciplinary approach is one of IGPSC’s defining characteristics. It enables  participants to benefit from a genuine cross-sector benchmark and discover methods,  innovations and lessons learned that can be applied to their own challenges.

Over two days, between 25 and 30 high-level speakers share their experience on projects of  national and international significance. They present projects in which they have been directly involved, openly discussing objectives, solutions implemented, challenges  encountered and lessons learned. This diversity of perspectives provides participants with a unique overview of the major  projects shaping our future.

A Network of Partners and National and International Reach

For more than 20 years, IGPSC has relied on the commitment of industrial, institutional,  academic and professional partners. They actively contribute to the quality of its program, its visibility and its ability to bring together key stakeholders in engineering, major projects and complex systems.

Partners represented within the Scientific and Technical Council notably include Amentum,  Arcadis, ArianeGroup, Artelia, Assystem, Axone, CEA, Dodin Campenon Bernard, Eiffage Génie Civil, Equans, Ingérop, Onet Technologies, OPQIBI, Orano Projets, Setec, Tractebel and WSP.

While IGPSC is recognized today as one of France’s leading engineering congresses, its  influence extends far beyond national borders. The projects presented frequently involve  international partners, while many represented organizations contribute to major European and global programs.

This openness provides participants with a broader perspective on the industrial, technological, energy and scientific challenges shaping our future.

The presence of decision-makers from strategic sectors makes IGPSC a unique forum for sharing experience, collective reflection and networking among those who design, finance, manage and deliver the major projects of the 21st century.

A Distinguished Guest Speaker Providing Strategic Perspective

A highlight of the congress is the intervention of the Guest of Honour or Distinguished Keynote Speaker, which concludes the first day of the event.

Selected for their expertise and ability to shed light on major contemporary challenges, this personality provides a forward-looking and strategic vision that enriches participants’  reflections far beyond their own fields of activity.

Each edition therefore addresses major themes such as industrial sovereignty, the energy  transition, critical infrastructure, defence, emerging technologies and the economic and  societal transformations that will have a lasting impact on our environment.

With the Support of AFIS INCOSE, French Tech Pays Basque and Pays Basque  Digital

IGPSC benefits from the support of French Tech Pays Basque and Pays Basque Digital, which bring together the region’s ecosystem of start-ups and innovative companies.

Their involvement helps connect innovation driven by young technology companies with  the industrial challenges addressed during the congress, fostering exchanges, experience  sharing and networking between complementary stakeholders.

The congress also relies on the support of AFIS – the French Association for Systems  Engineering (INCOSE France), which provides an additional national perspective on  systems engineering and complex systems challenges.

For IGPSC, maintaining strong links with local and national economic, industrial, academic  and technological ecosystems is essential.

As the congress is now hosted in Biarritz, this openness encourages interactions between  start-ups, SMEs, major corporations, engineers, researchers and young talent, contributing  to stronger links between territorial innovation, engineering and major industrial projects.

Networking and Social Events

Beyond presentations and Q&A sessions, IGPSC places great importance on professional and  human interactions.

Throughout the two-day congress, numerous networking opportunities will take place,  including welcome breakfasts, coffee breaks, lunches, networking sessions, informal discussions with speakers and a dinner at the Halles Centrales de Biarritz.

These moments provide valuable opportunities to deepen discussions, share experiences, expand professional networks and build lasting relationships with participants and speakers alike.

Designed to encourage both spontaneous encounters and structured exchanges, they are an  integral part of the IGPSC experience and one of the congress’s defining features.

What Your Registration Includes

Your registration provides access to all conference sessions over the two days of the  congress, as well as all networking and catering activities.
