XPENG Motors Launches Two 100% Electric Premium Models in the French Market

Chinese automotive manufacturer XPENG Motors, specializing in electric mobility, announces its entry into France with the debut of two SUV models: the G9 and the G6. Both models are now available for pre-order from 15 XPENG dealerships

The XPENG G9: Ultra-fast Battery Charging

The G9 model stands out in the automotive industry for its ultra-fast battery charging. The G9 SUV is available in three versions: Standard Range and Extended Range for rear-wheel drive. And a Performance version with all-wheel drive.

The 4.90-meter-long SUV is available with battery capacities of 78.2 or 98 kWh. Performance ranges from 230 kW (312 hp) for rear-wheel drive versions to 405 kW (550 hp) for the all-wheel-drive version.

The AWD Performance version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. The WLTP ranges for the rear-wheel-drive G9 are 460 km and 570 km, respectively, while the all-wheel-drive Performance version reaches 520 km.

With a charging power of 300 kW and 800-volt technology, the G9 recharges from 10% to 80% in just 20 minutes.

WLTP Consumption

The combined WLTP consumption data for XPENG’s G9 models provides valuable insights into their efficiency and performance.

For the G9 RWD Standard Range, electrical consumption stands at 19.4 kWh per 100 km, with zero CO2 emissions. This model boasts a range of 460 km and falls under the efficiency class A+++.

Similarly, the G9 RWD Extended Range exhibits identical electrical consumption and CO2 emissions figures. However, its extended range reaches 570 km, maintaining its efficiency class rating of A+++.

Regarding the G9 AWD Performance model, electrical consumption slightly increases to 21.3 kWh per 100 km. CO2 emissions remain at zero. Despite this, the vehicle still achieves a commendable WLTP range of 520 km, placing it within the efficiency class A+++.

Retail Prices

The retail prices for XPENG’s G9 models are as follows:

For the Standard Range variant, the retail price is €59,990.

For the Extended Range version, customers can expect to pay €63,990.

Lastly, the Performance model is priced at €73,990.

In the 2023 Norwegian Automobile Association (NAF) test, the all-wheel-drive “Performance” version of the G9 outperformed WLTP values and factory standards for equivalent models. This was both in terms of range and charging speed. It ranked first and second, respectively, in the overall rankings. The G9 also received a 5-star safety rating in the EURO NCAP crash test.

The XPENG G6: The Ultra-Intelligent eSUV Coupe

The G6 is a sporty 100% electric SUV model with elegant and rounded design cues. Like the G9, the G6 is available in three versions. Two battery capacities are offered: 66 kWh (LFP) and 87.5 kWh (NCM).

• The Rear-wheel Drive (Standard Range version) offers 255 hp and 440 Nm of torque. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 6.9 seconds and a range of 435 km (WLTP).

• The Rear-wheel Drive (Extended Range version) features 280 hp and 440 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds and offers a range of 570 km (WLTP).

• The All-wheel Drive (Performance version) delivers 470 hp and 660 Nm of torque. It can reach 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and has a range of 550 km (WLTP).

XPENG offers a 5-year / 120k + 2-year free / 40k (160,000 km) warranty on all its vehicles. There is also an 8-year warranty on the high-voltage battery.

Also, according to XPENG, the models comply with all EU cybersecurity regulations.
