Two weeks ago, the Innov-Agri French show showcased the latest in agricultural robotics. Our technology expert, Soukaina Okacha, was on site to explore the groundbreaking innovations that are set to transform farming and livestock management. Three standout robots caught her attention.
1/ Jeantil Automatic Feeding: The Robotic Solution for Livestock Feeding
Developed by the French company Jeantil, based near Rennes, the Jeantil Automatic Feeding robot optimizes livestock feeding by automating ration management. This innovative system is made up of three main components: a ration preparation station, a control interface, and a distribution robot.
Key Features
Versatile Product Handling
The system is equipped with various cells for different materials such as bulk silage, round and square bales, and grains. After loading the feed, the system automatically distributes the right rations using the R4D4 distribution robot, available in 4 or 5 m³ versions.
Using wire-guided technology, it navigates the farm with precision, ensuring optimal distribution.
The robot runs on a lithium battery, enabling full-day operation, making it suitable for farms with up to 240 cattle.
Benefits for Farmers
The advantages of this robot for farmers are:
Reduced Equipment Costs: No need for a tractor or additional feed mixers.
Time Savings: Feeding preparation that once took 2-3 hours now only takes 15-30 minutes.
Energy Efficiency: The system costs just €0.20 to €0.30 per ton of distributed feed.
2/Traxx Hydrogen: The First Autonomous Hydrogen-Powered Vineyard Straddle Tractor
EXXACT Robotics has introduced the Traxx Hydrogen, a groundbreaking autonomous straddle tractor specifically designed for narrow vineyards. As the first hydrogen-powered tractor in the viticulture sector, this prototype is a game-changer for eco-friendly vineyard management.
Key Features
With its 35 kW power, it supports universal soil cultivation tools for a wide range of tasks.
With its 10-hour autonomy, the hydrogen fuel cell allows continuous work over a full day.
Its compact design makes it ideal for working efficiently in narrow vineyard rows.
Benefits for Vineyard Owners
This prototype offers several notable advantages for winemakers looking to improve the efficiency of their operations while reducing their environmental impact:
Decarbonized Solution: By using clean hydrogen energy, Traxx helps reduce CO2 emissions in vineyards.
Reduced Noise Pollution: Unlike traditional vineyard tractors, this model operates quietly, enhancing working conditions.
Quick Recharge: The fuel cell recharges quickly, allowing minimal downtime and maximizing productivity.
3/ AgXeed: The Versatile Autonomous Tractor
The AgXeed robot is an autonomous tractor designed to revolutionize traditional farming by being fully adaptable. Thanks to its universal hitch, it can be equipped with any standard agricultural tool, making it highly versatile for tasks like seeding, soil preparation, spraying, and weeding.
Key Features
Powerful Motors: The robot is equipped with motors that are strong enough to handle heavy-duty tasks while remaining energy-efficient.
Autonomy: With renewable energy sources and advanced GPS technology, the robot operates continuously over long periods.
Precision Agriculture: Equipped with cutting-edge sensors and GPS, it delivers highly precise farming operations.
Benefits for Farmers
The benefits for farmers are as follows:
Labor Cost Reduction: The AgXeed robot handles repetitive tasks autonomously, reducing the need for manual labor.
Time Efficiency: Farmers can delegate time-consuming tasks to the robot, allowing them to focus on other essential operations.
Sustainability: By using renewable energy and minimizing inputs like water and pesticides, the AgXeed robot promotes eco-friendly farming practices.
