As the Olympic Games start this week in France, we invite you to explore some of the Olympic venues hosting the events in Paris and Marseille. Paris 2024 will run from July 26 to August 11. The Paralympic Games will take place between August 28 and September 8.
1/ Athletics – Stade de France (Saint-Denis)

The Stade de France will host athletics, rugby sevens, and the Games’ closing ceremony. The choice of violet for the track, instead of the traditional orange, aligns with the graphic charter of the Paris 2024 Games.
Alain Blondel, former decathlon champion, commented:
“The main effort was to have a track different from what we have seen before, staying within the creative approach that the organizing committee has had since its inception, which means thinking a little outside the box. The three reference colors for all competition sites are blue, green, and violet, and we went with this violet track with different shades: lighter for the track, darker for the service areas, and gray for the corner zones reminiscent of the cinder tracks from 100 years ago for the Paris 1924 Olympic Games.”
2/ Beach Volleyball – Champ de Mars (Paris)

At the Champ de Mars, at the foot of the Eiffel Tower, beach volleyball and 5-a-side Paralympic football events will occur.
3/ Field Hockey – Stade Yves-du-Manoir (Colombes)

This stadium hosted the opening ceremony of the 1924 Paris Olympics. 100 years later, the Yves-du-Manoir stadium will host the field hockey events.
4/ Tennis, Boxing, Sitting Volley Ball – Roland-Garros (Paris)

Roland Garros will host the tennis and wheelchair tennis competitions for the first time. Boxing and sitting volleyball competitions will also take place there.
5/ Equestrian Sports – Château de Versailles

The gardens of the illustrious residence of the Sun King Louis XIV will host equestrian events, modern pentathlon, and para-equestrian competitions. The stands can accommodate up to 16,300 spectators.
6/ Badminton & Gymnastics – Adidas Arena (Paris La Chapelle)

During the Olympics, the Adidas Arena will host badminton (from July 27 to August 5), rhythmic gymnastics (August 8 to 10), para-badminton, and para-powerlifting (September 4 to 8). After the Games, the Paris Basketball Club will take up residency there. The Arena will also host concerts, shows, and conferences.
7/ Swimming – Olympic Aquatic Center (Saint-Denis)

The Olympic swimming pool in Saint-Denis will host diving, artistic swimming, and water polo events. The final events, however, will take place at the Paris La Défense Arena complex.
Thanks to its modular design, the Aquatic Center can change size, expanding from 5,000 seats during the Games to 2,500 seats in a format more suitable for residents.
8/ Skateboard & Breakdance – Place de La Concorde (Paris)

The world-renowned Parisian Place de la Concorde will be the venue for 3×3 basketball, BMX freestyle, breakdance, and skateboarding matches.
9/ Canoe-Kayak – Water Stadium (Vaires-sur-Marne)

The canoe-kayak competitions will take place in Vaires-sur-Marne, east of Paris. The water stadium will also host the rowing events during the Paris Games.
10/ Sailing – Olympic Marina (Marseille)

Marseille will be the host city for the sailing competitions of the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic Games. For the occasion, the city built a cutting-edge nautical stadium that will serve as a prestigious venue for the event.
