5 COVID-19 Innovations Showcased at Virtual CES 2021
CES

This year’s edition of the CES is virtual due to the current situation. If there are fewer exhibiting companies this year than in previous years (1,900 companies in 2021 compared to 4,400 companies in 2020), innovation is still there. The world has turned to technology like never before to solve the challenges caused by COVID-19. According to Gary Shapiro, President of the Consumer Electronics Association, “Tech innovation has accelerated during the pandemic.”

And as a result, an incredibly high number of COVID-related products is being unveiled at the digital fair that is taking place from January 11-14.

We selected 5 “coronatech” for B2B professionals.

Skreeneo, specialized in touch screens, is showcasing the Smart Safe Station ™ along with the SoClean ™ antimicrobial film. This solution is designed for professionals to meet health safety measures to protect both their customers and employees.

The Smart Safe Station is a touch-screen kiosk that offers contactless dispensing of a 100% organic disinfectant and enables mask detection. The touch screen is covered with SoClean, a patented antimicrobial film that prevents the spread of microorganisms on hands and surfaces.

Thin, clear and transparent, this adhesive film, which is adapted to the reactivity and fluidity of touch screens, incorporates active silver ions acting as a barrier against germs. When these ions come into contact with bacteria and viruses, they prevent them from multiplying, leading to their total destruction. Skreeneo says SoClean can remain active for a period of at least five years.

The Safe Station is fully customizable via a digital platform hosted in the cloud to meet the requirements of each business. The kiosk can indeed be used for menu/order display (catering), location in public places and shopping malls, reception desks in large companies, secure registration of attendees at trade shows (automated check-in).

The Smart Safe Station is currently available for purchase at a price of €2490.00 excluding VAT until March 30, 2021.

The workplace has changed since the beginning of the pandemic and now needs to be safe. Jooxter is showcasing a workplace management system for companies to build a new work organization in respect of social distancing measures.

Based on a SaaS model, the platform optimizes office space through data analysis. It provides real-time information of the occupation of a building and allows to reorganize workstations to comply with social distancing guidelines and ensure employee safety.

Employees can report their presence on site via a smartphone application available on iPhone and Android.  In case of contamination of an employee, this system allows to quickly track the people the employee was in contact with inside the company.

03. Combined Tech to Fight COVID-19 by Morpheus TEK, DreamVu and mAIrobotics

Announced at CES 2021, this partnership is aiming at bringing up a series of social distancing and monitoring technologies to professionals for safer office buildings and factories.

DreamVU ‘s omnidirectional 3D Vision System involves a 360°, 3D camera that offers stereoscopic sensing with depth perception. This solution, therefore, allows to monitor entire workspaces, even narrow areas, and count people. It can also follow movements, and trigger alerts when social distancing is not respected. The solution can be integrated into existing video management systems.

mAIrobotics’s automated and contactless IR thermal scanner body temperature solutions can detect employee’s temperature in less than half a second and alert in case of high temperature. The scanner also features mask detection and facial recognition capabilities.

04. A Disinfecting Station for Small Devices by iCleanse

iCleanse, expert in chemical-free disinfection has patented a technology that kills pathogens in just 60 seconds using UV-C technology. They designed a station that looks like a dishwasher which applies consistent germicidal light to 99% of the surface area of the item you place inside it. Any small item can be “washed”, whether it is an electronic device (smartphones, tablets), a work tool or personal items.

iCleanse say their technology enables to kill 99.99% of pathogens including influenza, the common cold, and coronavirus.

The stations are available in different sizes and can disinfect multiple products at the same time. According to iCleanse, such stations are already being used in hospitals and police departments across the planet. More organizations, companies and factories could be interested in this solution for their employees.

Prices start at 2,795USD.

The pandemic is forcing us to find new ways to disinfect and clean indoor spaces, whether it is at home, at work, in hospitals or in other public spaces. CleanAirZone has developed biotechnology that involves a bio solution (called BioCAZ solution) dissolved in water and that they say is more efficient to digest pollution than filter or UV light systems.

Their air purifier is said to eliminate all forms of indoor pollution including mold, bacteria, viruses, dust and hazardous gases and particles that are below or equal to 0.0001 microns.

Their technology follows 2 steps: first, the air system captures the harmful airborne particles using their electrical charge. This process is similar to the way dust particles hang on a computer screen for example. Once the contaminants are captured inside the device, the natural enzymes contained within the bio solution will digest and eliminate them.

The company says one device is efficient to clean a room up to 70 square meters.
