SPIE Batignolles has launched a new 3D concrete printing workshop called emPrinte near Lyon, France.
The workshop aims to reduce CO2 emissions by 30 to 50% compared to traditional construction methods1. Mathilde, an ABB Foundry 2 Plus 7-axis robot, is central to the operations. The robot uses Lafarge concrete and an Xtree printing head to create various concrete structures.
The workshop produces construction components, urban furniture, and custom-made products. This is SPIE Batignolles’ second 3D printing facility, following the first one in Ollainville, near Paris.
DirectIndustry had the opportunity to visit the factory.
