The Paris 2024 Athletes’ Village exemplifies sustainable urban development by integrating athletes’ perspectives into its design, employing innovative eco-friendly construction techniques, and committing to a long-term legacy as a vibrant community post-Games.

Designed with direct input from athletes worldwide, the Village spans three municipalities—Saint-Denis, Saint-Ouen-Sur-Seine, and L’Île-Saint-Denis—and will host 14,500 athletes during the Olympics and 9,000 during the Paralympics

After the Games, it will transform into a thriving community with 2,800 new housing units, extensive green spaces, and amenities for sustainable urban living.

2/ Sustainable Excellence: ELAN’s Role in the Paris 2024 Games

ELAN, a pioneer in sustainable architecture, has significantly contributed to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games by designing two flagship venues: the Aquatique Center and the Adidas Arena

The Aquatique Center in Saint-Denis showcases eco-friendly construction, incorporating bio-sourced and recycled materials. It boasts one of France’s largest urban solar farms and relies on renewable energy systems. 

The Adidas Arena, Paris’ sole new Olympic venue, exemplifies environmental stewardship with low-carbon concrete and a remarkable 95% recycling rate for construction waste. Both venues prioritize adaptability for future events, promising economic and tourism benefits post-Olympics.

3/ Key Partners Driving the Success of the Paris 2024 Games

The Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games rely on key partners for their success. These partners, including Airweave, Arena, CRYSTAL, Myrtha Pools, Saint-Gobain, and Technogym, provide crucial financial and technical support. Their contributions range from financial backing to technical expertise, ensuring the seamless execution of the Games. 

For instance, Airweave, a Japanese mattress manufacturer, offers cutting-edge sleep technology for athletes’ well-being.

Arena provides temporary infrastructure for 13 key competition venues, while other partners like CRYSTAL, Myrtha Pools, Saint-Gobain, and Technogym contribute to the event’s memorable and sustainable essence.

Additionally, 95% of the venues will be existing or temporary to minimize the budget and carbon footprint, with only three new venues constructed specifically for the event.

Excitingly, Nature Urbaine, Europe’s largest rooftop urban farm, sets ambitious sustainability and biodiversity goals for 2024, reconnecting urban dwellers with locally grown, pesticide-free produce.

4/ Technogym Partners with the Paris 2024 Olympic Games

Technogym, a world leader in fitness equipment and digital technologies, has been chosen as the official and exclusive supplier for the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. They will equip 29 training centers with 1,200 equipment for the 14,900 athletes. The main training center will be the Olympic and Paralympic Village in Saint-Denis. 

Additionally, Technogym will provide a team of professional athletic trainers to support the athletes during the Games. 

Technogym’s innovative ecosystem includes mobile apps, connected smart equipment, and AI-driven wellness centers, emphasizing their dedication to improving athletes’ performance and well-being.
