A little twist of the wrist and this overhead crane begins to move. The operator is not some sort of Jedi, but simply a factory employee using a new kind of wearable device.

Developed by French start-up Siatech, ComHand is a connected radio remote control for materials handling applications. Equipped with motion sensors, the wristband communicates with connected industrial objects, enabling the operator to control them easily and safely.

Such new operator-friendly systems aimed at making work easier will multiply in the factory of the future…
