With unmatched speed, AI-readiness, and multi-industry adaptability, the new UR15 from Universal Robots marks a major leap in collaborative automation.
Universal Robots, the Danish pioneer in collaborative robotics, has just launched what it calls its fastest and most advanced cobot to date: the UR15. According to the company’s official press release issued on May 13, 2025, the UR15 is now available for order, with deliveries set to begin in June.
Packed with breakthrough motion capabilities and an industry-leading top speed of 5 m/s, this new model sets a new standard in high-speed collaborative automation — all while maintaining UR’s signature compact design and ease of integration.
Let’s dive into what makes the UR15 a game-changer in the world of industrial automation.
A New Benchmark in Speed, Fluidity, and Precision
With its 15 kg payload (upgradable to 17.5 kg for vertical applications) and a 30% cycle time reduction in pick & place operations compared to other UR cobots, the UR15 is built for industries where speed and precision are non-negotiable.
Whether it’s automotive production lines, electronics assembly, or metal machining, the UR15 delivers:
- Ultra-smooth trajectories thanks to the new UR OptiMove motion control technology
- High-speed accuracy, even in harsh environments (IP65-rated protection)
- Seamless integration into tight spaces, thanks to its lightweight, space-saving form factor
Tero Tolonen, Chief Product Officer at Universal Robots, explains:
“With the UR15, we’re pushing collaborative automation to a new level. It’s built for high-speed environments and offers unmatched fluidity — unlocking new potential for both existing and emerging industrial applications.”

AI-Ready and Built for the Future of Smart Manufacturing
Running on PolyScope 5 and the newly enhanced PolyScope X platforms, the UR15 is AI-ready out of the box. The robot supports Universal Robots’ AI Accelerator kit, developed in partnership with NVIDIA. This integration uses the NVIDIA Isaac™ libraries and Jetson AGX Orin™ modules to enable intelligent, adaptive applications.
At the Automate trade show, the UR15 is already being demonstrated in action — paired with AI-powered quality control solutions from 3D Infotech, showcasing its potential for physical AI deployments in real-world production.
From cleanroom environments in electronics to bin picking in automotive plants, the UR15 adapts to every challenge with speed, intelligence, and reliability.
Bonus Update
Universal Robots also announced a revamp of its e-Series lineup, introducing the UR7e and UR12e, rebranded versions of the UR5e and UR10e, with improved payloads and clearer naming conventions. The UR15 joins the UR20 and UR30 in UR’s high-performance range, offering manufacturers a complete cobot family for every task — from delicate assembly to heavy-duty palletizing.
The UR15 is available to order now, with deliveries starting in June.
