At JIMTOF this year, NBK introduced 4 innovations, each catering to distinct needs in the machine tool sector, combining reliability, ease of use, and a modern aesthetic.

DirectIndustry took a tour of their booth at JIMTOF in Tokyo Big Sight last week.
1/ Swivel Mount Units for Machine Tool Panels
The first of NBK’s innovations is a specially designed swivel mount unit for machine tool panels. This mount allows cables to be routed internally, protecting them from potential damage and ensuring a streamlined appearance. The unit is available in both fixed and hanging configurations, offering flexibility for different setups. This design feature minimizes external clutter, enhancing both the safety and aesthetic appeal of machine tools.
2/ Pre-Designed Cast Parts for Ball Screw Borders
NBK has also expanded its line of casted parts to include specialized components for border screws, specifically engineered for major brands like NSK and THK. These cast parts are compatible with these brands. This eliminates the need for custom designs by customers and allows for seamless integration into existing systems. This approach not only saves time and resources but also ensures that clients receive parts crafted with NBK’s high-quality standards and attention to detail.
3/ LED-Equipped Safety Handles
One of the innovations we particularly liked at DirectIndustru is NBK’s new unique handle design for industrial doors. Equipped with an integrated LED indicator and switch button, this innovation brings both functionality and enhanced visibility to equipment safety. This LED light can be customized in color. Seven colors are available including red or blue, allowing operators to instantly see the handle’s status.
This design addresses a common issue in factories. Indeed, traditional lighting columns can sometimes be hard to view from a distance or at high angles. With the LED light positioned directly on the handle, operators gain a clear, immediate visual cue. Additionally, a model with a key-lock feature adds an extra layer of safety by limiting access. This ensures that only authorized personnel can operate the door.
4/ Customizable, Ergonomic Switch Boxes
One of NBK’s most innovative releases is a modern, ergonomic switch box, currently available in Japan. Designed with contemporary aesthetics in mind, the switch box departs from traditional industrial models. It features a sleek black design and an intuitive interface with visible LED indicators. NBK’s switch box allows clients to customize each component, including button type, switch functionality, and cable orientation. With millions of possible combinations, this switch box caters to highly specific customer needs and is ideal for forward-thinking companies like Mazak and DMG that prioritize modern, integrated design. NBK is currently working to expand the availability of this product to European markets, where demand is expected to be strong.
