The sheer number of companies and brands in the Chinese market contributes to this lack of recognition. To shed light on the top players, we’ve selected the 5 most influential Chinese automotive OEMs in 2024. Our collection is based on sales volume and market capitalization.

  1. BYD: Originally a battery producer founded in 1995, BYD transitioned to car manufacturing in 2005. Since 2022, they have dedicated themselves to new energy vehicles (NEVs).
