The List of Trade Shows Postponed and Canceled in 2021

In February 2020, we started publishing a list of the industrial and tech shows that were canceled, postponed, maintained, or going digital all around the world due to the Coronavirus outbreak. It seems that 2021 is starting to look a little bit like 2020 as the first cancelations and postponements are being announced. Here is a new article that indicates the tradeshows that will or will not take place in 2021. This list will be updated as announcements are made.



Mesago Messe Frankfurt is planning to return to an in-person event for this year’s SPS from 23-25 November 2021. The physical event will be complemented by an additional digital offering for global visitors who are unable to travel to Nuremberg to attend in person.


Anuga FoodTec

The International trade fair for food technology is canceled for 2021. It will come back on April 2022 (26-29).


The international packaging fair is canceled for 2021. It will come back in May 2023 (04 to 10).


Firstly postponed to June 22-24 2021,  the International Trade Fair for Intralogistics Solutions and Process Managementthat usually take place in Stuttgart (Germany) has been canceled for 2021.  It is postponed to March 2022.


The 2021 French International Air Show will not take place this June as planned due to the uncertainty linked to the COVID-19 health crisis. The next edition will be held from 19 to 25 June 2023.


Due to concerns associated with the ongoing pandemic, The Association for Advancing Automation (A3) has decided to cancel Automate in 2021. The fair is postponed to June 6-9, 2022, at TCF Center in Detroit, Michigan, USA. A3 also announced Automate Forward, a virtual conference for the robotics and automation industry, which will be held March 22-26, 2021.


The organizes of ACHEMA have just announced that ACHEMA 2021 could not take place this year in June in Germany because of the uncertainty caused by the Corona pandemic. ACHEMA will be postponed to April 4-8, 2022. From June 15-16, 2021, ACHEMA Pulse will offer the worldwide ACHEMA community the opportunity to learn about the latest trends and make new contacts with highlight sessions, top-class discussions and lectures as well as interactive formats.



In view of the current developments surrounding COVID-19, Hannover Messe will be staged in a purely digital format next April (12 – 16 April).


The Consumer Electronics Show that normally takes place every year in Las Vegas (US) in January will go all virtual this year from January 11-14 2021.


The trade show for the construction industry will go online from January 13–15, 2021. BAU usually takes place every two years in Munich (Germany) but will be only digital in 2021.



French fair GLOBAL INDUSTRIE is postponed to September 6-9 2021 in Eurexpo in Lyon (France).

Mobile World Congress

The Spanish fair for the telecom industry that is normally held in Barcelona will not be taking place in February 2021. The event is postponed to June 28-July 1, 2021 as a precaution. In 2020, the organizers of the fair were obliged to cancel the event because of the coronavirus. They were the first to cancel an international tradeshow in Europe.
