Wearable Robots For the Factory

It’s a fact—robots have already appeared on the factory floor to work in collaboration with their human counterparts. But wearable robots might be the next big workplace development. Developed by the German Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation, wearable exoskeletons are aimed at helping workers carry out difficult tasks and handle heavy loads without bodily injury. These actively-driven assistants distribute loads throughout the body and mechanically accompany workers performing complex assembly, logistics, manufacturing and production tasks.
