[CES 2019] RoboSense Releases Autonomous Vehicles for Consumers in 2020

With autonomous public transportation already underway, RoboSense has signed investors such as Alibaba in order to commercialize self-driving automobiles for individual consumers by 2020. The best part? The company has lined up various top automotive brands to adapt its technology to preferred hot rides.

January 8, 2019⸻CES Innovations Award honoree, for safer autonomous car technology, RoboSense presented its RS-LiDAR-M1 in the form of an autonomous vehicle with a ‘Gaze’ function that acts similar to human eyes, but with a 200-meter detection. The vehicle houses five LiDARs: two in the front, two in the back and one on top. Although the market is competitive, RoboSense believes its latest technology sets the M1 apart as an automotive grade solid-state LiDAR for mass production. Yalin Ren, general manager at RoboSense, spoke to DirectIndustry e-magazine at the event:

Our new technology combines hardware and software, with Artificial Intelligence incorporated into our algorithm system. Tests prove that it will pass automotive standards and we’re ready to see it reach level 5 for autonomous driving.

Over the last two years the company has worked hard on what it claims to be the first hardware and software algorithm-based sensory solution for self-driving vehicles, updating its 10-year-long tech development, based on its patented MEMS technology.Having investors such as Alibaba will see the project through to commercialization, expected to occur first in China in early 2020. Ren stated the company’s technology can be adapted to various types of top-brand vehicles and that the company will make another announcement in six month’s time to state with which brands they’ve partnered. Stay tuned!
