Robots in Retail!

COSY (Cognitive Operational Systems LLC) is a spinoff of the University of Pennsylvania’s GRASP Laboratory. Its beaconless technology enables robots to perform and navigate in retail stores using computer vision and artificial intelligence even where there is no GPS or WiFi. It’s the computer vision that provides beaconless guidance. The technology is based on a 3-D immersive map created by a floor robot that surveys the store and details all the products inside. This will ease inventory management for workers as well as improve customer experience by allowing your phone to home in on the items you want.
