The Airbus Flying Taxi

Its name is Vahana and it could become the first pilotless flying taxi. Last week, Airbus released several artist’s conceptions of its project vehicle that could become a reality by the end of 2017, with a prototype flying in Singapore. Designed to unclog urban traffic, Vahana will transport cargo as well as people. Airbus says the taxi will follow planned routes and will be able to avoid obstacles. The company also adds that such automation will ensure safety by eliminating human error. Companies like Google and Uber are also going into this market. Google’s version has already been seen flying at Hollister airport in California.
