#25 - INDUSTRIAL MACHINES IN THE CLOUD

Little Robots Roaming Around Your Body

They are like bugs crawling all over your body, except that they are entirely electronic and have wheels. Researchers from MIT and Stanford developed Rovables, miniature wearable robots that can drive around your body while hanging onto your clothes. The little rovers use their magnetic gripping wheels to cling to fabric. A set of sensors and AI tools allow them to be autonomous, and they have a battery life of 45 minutes. The engineers believe the Rovables could be of practical help to the user. For example, they might roll up your sleeve while you’re riding a bike or tap on your arm when you receive a new email. Unless you suffer from insectophobia.
