#20 – NO MORE LUBRICATION?

Icarus’ Dream Almost At Reach

The old dream of a flying car might someday come true: The Canadian start-up Airvinci has designed the first personal flying vehicle that’s so easy to pilot that a car driver could do it. Neither a drone nor a proper helicopter, the NN2725N, or BackPack Helicopter, is thought of as an alternative to the car. It can carry 120 kg up to 3,600 meters high without the need to take off from a landing strip. Equipped with two thermal engines, and with a weight of 90 kg, it can operate with a maximum of one hour of operation, at a speed of 70 km/h. Its price: between $65,000 and $100,000. Airvinci hopes begin commercialization in 2018.
