China Invents the Anti-Traffic Jam Bus

During a high-tech fair in Beijing last month, China TBS Limited presented an unusual mass transit vehicle. With a carrying capacity of 1400 people, the 7-meter-wide “straddling bus” moves on rails laid along both sides of the roadway. Sitting high above regular traffic, it allows smaller vehicles to pass underneath. The bus will be tested this summer in northern China. It is expected to reduce traffic congestion from 20 to 30%, offering an eco-friendly solution in a country where pollution and traffic jams are the daily routine.
