Tikaway

This month, French manufacturer Tikaway announced its camera-equipped glasses connected to a video conferencing interface. The system allows employees in the field to communicate hands-free with headquarters to transmit information or receive aid and instructions. The company says its real-time, no-latency system provides HD audio and video that is easy to use and carries a modest price tag. The required smartphone app is available at the Apple or Play store. The glasses offer 16Gb of internal storage, cloud storage and two hours of use on a single charge—one hour in Live Meeting mode. The target market includes the construction and other industries, as well as the health and real estate sectors. The firm developed its own video conferencing platform which can handle up to three simultaneous participants and offers several subscription options. A standard browser connection means no special installation is required. Content also can be posted to social media and video sharing websites.
