Visitors to this year’s Hannover Messe learned how 3D products could be personalized before printing through a 3D customizing cloud engine.
Germany-based trinckle 3D demonstrated its web-based software system that allows businesses to create and offer customizable products for both consumer and industry use.
Heralded as the “next generation of mass customization,” the 3D Customizing Cloud Engine permits any 3D printable product to be individualized. It runs as an application on any printing company’s own website, through any computer or mobile device and via an interface designed to be user-friendly for those with no experience of 3D modelling or CAD software.
After designing a product, the printing company or its clients create a 3D model and decide which elements should be customizable – from the simple, such as colour, height or wall thickness, to the more complex, including the ability to significantly change the size, shape and structure of multiple objects at once. Customers then make changes themselves via the website while design algorithms create a 3D printable file for purchase or download.
